Dr. Bruce Banner, a successful physicist is portrayed as a genius who has little interaction with the outside world. Passionate by its discoveries, Bruce will eventually fall under the spell of its own science when, due to the gamma radiations, he will become a green (gray in some editions) monster.

Originally, the transformation takes place during the night and lasts until dawn. However, in the television series and films (and later in the comics), the transformation was triggered by strong negative emotions, such as anger, fear, frustration and rage.

His strength was far greater than the one of a normal human being and it grew exponentially with the increase in anger or rage. The main quote meant to describe Hulk was “The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets.” Furthermore, his durability and endurance were also determined by Hulk’s emotional state. An angry Hulk could endure much more than a relatively calm Hulk, so the chances that this creature could have ever been defeated were rather scarce.

Along the years, the physical traits of the Incredible Hulk have changed significantly. Yet, these were mere speculations as none of those contributing to the production of the Hulk series have asserted their adhesion to such ideas.

The Incredible Hulk is one of the most nonconformist superheroes which have been made famous by the comic books. Possessing the mind of a genius and the strength of a huge monster, Hulk is presented as a potential good figure in the television series and the good guy looking ugly and mean in the 2008 film. This has been a successful approach, as it made millions of Hulk fans all over the world.

• Dress your little monster in an Incredible Hulk costume now

Here are some guidelines to help you achieve the perfect Hulk look.

1. Prepare your face & neck

This is the golden rule of any successful makeup: scrub your face and moisturize it before applying any type of makeup. If you do not have a scrub you can very well use brown sugar to exfoliate all the dead skin, then use a soap to clean the dirt from your face. This will ensure that there are no things on your face which can affect the quality of your makeup. Afterwards moisturize the skin, so that your face will not be affected in any way by the substances you put on your face. Do the same for all the areas which will be covered in makeup (neck, hands and even the upper part of your body if you want)

2. Applying the green makeup

Once your skin is clean and moisturized, you can start applying the green makeup. Use a liquid green face paint, similar in texture with foundation. Apply it uniformly with a sponge in such a way as no patch of skin will remain uncovered. If there are areas which cannot be reached using a sponge, choose a small brush to cover them. Make sure that the green paint layer is evenly applied on the skin, so that the makeup will look as accurate as possible. Then, apply the makeup on your ears and neck for a total make-over.

3. Fine lines

In order to look like an angry Hulk you will need to draw some darker lines. Use a black makeup, frown and then highlight those lines by drawing fine lines with the thin brush. Blend the makeup well so that the lines will look deep and will have a dark green color. Use some purple makeup on the lower eyelids for a tougher look.

4. Eyebrows

There are two ways in which you can make your eyebrows look like Hulk’s. The first option is to draw some fine lines using black makeup and then blend it in for some depth and dark look. The second option is to buy a wig (or use an old one) and cut some hair locks out of it. Dye them dark green and stick them to your eyebrows using face-makeup glue. Make them look as bushy as possible, for an accurate Hulk look.

5. Hair

Again, for the hair there are two options: you can either wear a wig and solve the problem in a matter of minutes or use your own hair to achieve the green creature’s look. If you go for the second option you will need a green hair paint spray, an old towel and some styling gel. Apply the spray on the hair and with the towel cover your face and neck so that the paint will not get into your eyes or on your skin. Wait for the green paint to dry out and style your hair using the hair gel. An uneven and dirty look is what you must achieve.

Combine this makeup with a pair of tattered jeans and a green t-shirt and you have obtained the perfect Incredible Hulk costume. Who would have thought that dressing up as a superhero can be so easy!

Hulk History

We all know that the Hulk is a superhero or a character that is fictional that appears in comic books that are published by Marvel Comics. The creator of this character was Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The green machine which I like to call him first appeared in The Incredible Hulk way back in 1962. During 2008 the Hulk was named the 7th greatest comic character in a Marvel Comic ever. That same Empire Magazine named the character the 14th greatest comic book character of all times.

A little history about who the Hulk really is in case you don’t know. He is the impulsive alter ego of an inhibited and a very aloof physicist by the name of Dr. Bruce Banner. The Dr. accidentally was exposed to a blast to a gamma bomb that he was working on and this transformed him into the Hulk. This creature is a giant, raging, humanoid that looks like a monster that has great complications on the Dr’s real life.
